Raphael Dallaporta stages and photographs antipersonnel mines as if they were bottles of perfume or jewelry. The style in which the mines are photographed removes their image far from their customary context and function, almost ignoring their intended purpose. Refusing easy sensationalism in favor of a more disturbing, insinuating depiction, you may want to believe these are beautiful images, but the content is deadly and brutal.
