The yoga 'phase' that America started to get into back in 2002 looks like it will be a much longer love affair.

Seeking New Ways to Health

According to a new report from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s National Center for Health Statistics, roughly a third of the country utilizes some sort of complementary medicine approach. Complementary medicine is the use of alternative treatments and includes mind-body practices such as yoga and tai chi, deep breathing, and meditation.
The practices of yoga and tai chi have increased from 5.8 percent in the population in 2002 to 10.1 percent in 2012, with yoga being the most popular practice. From 2002 to 2012, the practice of yoga by Americans doubled!
Just more than 11% of 18-to-44-year-olds used yoga in 2012, up from 6.4% in 2002 and just under 2 million children practiced yoga in 2012, which is an almost 1% rise.
And it doesn't seem to be stopping there! The numbers of people practicing yoga just keeps going up. Have you tried yoga yet?
