My wedding may be consumed with the Tiffany Blue theme but I also want to include lace. I adore it so! If you've spent any time inline looking at wedding invitations then I'm sure you've seen some that are similar that use lace. Well, that's what I want to do; I found a great tutorial on a blog I discovered, written by a stay-at-home-mom and copywriter, Arianna Mevs. In her Brides to Brides blog she details how you can create the same lace envelope look using paper doilies, which are available on line at sites like ebay.com.
Here are the instructions that she posted on her blog. For more information on other cute ideas you can check her blog out.
Step 1: Create a template for the tracing paper/vellum.
Step 2: Trace the template into the tracing paper and use a cutter to cut it. But for the folded side in the middle, use the blunt edge of the cutter to give a folding mark.
Step 3: Spray the tracing paper with adhesive spray. Don’t forget to put newspaper to cover the surrounding area. Leave it for 15 seconds. Carefully stick it to the doilies, make sure it fits perfectly.
Step 4: Fold the doilies to follow the tracing paper’s structure. Secure the inside of the envelope with double-sided tape.
Step 5: Pat yourself on the back, for you just created something beautiful!
If you have any cool lace ideas for my wedding then I would love to hear about it. I like the idea of making stuff too for my wedding. So all ideas are welcome. Thank you! <3
