As I mentioned in my previous post I'm cooking for my girl this Saturday. I didn't want it to be typical steak and wine dinner. I want to make the mood more romantic by customizing my main course - sweetheart steak. You can purchase the heart-shaped steak in Whole Foods or ask your butcher to cut shape it.
The Steak Recipe:
I believe steak should be simple and this
recipe from @AvocadoLove is simply the best.
Sauteed Mushrooms Side:
3 tablespoons olive oil
3 tablespoons butter
1 pound button mushrooms, sliced
1 clove garlic, thinly sliced
1 tablespoon red cooking wine
1 tablespoon teriyaki sauce, or more to taste
1/4 teaspoon garlic salt, or to taste
freshly ground black pepper to taste
Heat olive oil and butter in a large saucepan over medium heat. Cook and stir mushrooms, garlic, cooking wine, teriyaki sauce, garlic salt, and black pepper in the hot oil and butter until mushrooms are lightly browned, about 5 minutes. Reduce heat to low and simmer until mushrooms are tender, 5 to 8 more minutes.
