In December of last year Blizzard announced that they had plans for a charity event. In Blizzard's game World of Warcraft there are various animals that you can buy and interact with. One of these animals is named Argi, you can see him in the picture above. In December Blizzard announced that every Argi that was purchased by December 31, 2014 would be for charity, 100% of the fee would go to assist in aiding in the fight against ebola in Africa.
The World of Warcraft community made an overwhelming embrace of the campaign, raising $1.9 million USD in one month, for the ebola relief efforts in Africa by the Red Cross.
@TeamWaffles Well it's not often you find a game that has had such a long life as WoW. I would say the only thing that rivals it is maybe CounterStrike
I forgot to mention they are also hilarious...ever seen Leroy Jenkins? Hahahah
@hunahuna @RobynSecor I wish more game communities could rise up like this. Seriously, for all the flak WoW players get, they seem to be the nicest, most compasionate community out there.
Those guys are the true heros
Wow! This is really inspiring.
