Valentine's day will now be more than an iconic chocolate day or a couple's day. Michele Ferrero, the owner of the Nutella empire and world's wealthiest chocolatier passed away at his home in Monte Carlo on February 14, 2015.
The chocolate business all started when his father Pietro Ferrero invented Nutella during world war II. After Michele took lead, he successfully created brands such as Kinder Chocolate, Tic Tac and Ferrero Rocher in Italy and spread it worldwide. The Italian candy maker is widely praise for his entrepreneurial spirit in the industry. According to Forbes Ferrero and his family rank 30th on its list of the world’s richest billionaires, worth $23.4 billion. With his absence, his legacy will be succeeded by his son, current acting CEO, Giovanni Ferrero.
