There is so much going on in the New York Fashion Week and while most of us are focus on the fashion trend I couldn't help but notice the low-key hair trend from the runway. The model were sporting hairstyle that are slightly tousled, textured with a tiny hint of wave. Don't let the naked eyes fool you, despite the effortless look it actually takes more diligence to create the faux messy hairstyle. For instance, Coach model's (picture above) hair was washed with sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner and the style was finished with a smidge of cream-paste to smooth fly-aways.
For the Rachel Comey catwalk prepping product and styling lotion was used to thicken up hair as it was being blow-dried.
Rebecca Minkoff model hairstyle was inspired by their rock-bohemian collection. For the rough, tousled texture, sea salt spray was used on damp strands before blow drying.
Jason Wu models used only one product to thicken up their strand - volumizing and texturizing spray. (I'll be keeping this in mind)
Banana Republic models were going for a fresh, simple yet glamorous edge hairstyle. To achieve the right amount of movement and body a sea foam was applied to damp strands and sea salt spray was used to emphasize the soft layered texture.
