Apparently, this is newly found video of the tsunami in Japan. There is some great video taken at ground level showing the water surge rushing around the corner and quickly filling the street.
The tsunami originated from nearby earthquakes. The first earthquake struck in the early hours of Tuesday and was recorded to be 6.9 on the Richter scale. Measured at a depth of 6 miles, the earthquake did not cause any casualties and did not affect any of the country's nuclear reactors.
Wow. Terrifying. I can't imagine being in that situation.
It's so interesting to see how slow, and yet how fast, the surge comes in and rises. @yakwithalan hit the nail on the head, though. It's terrifying.
