Sounds delicious doesn't it? My daughter actually brought back some cocoa powder over the weekend and I decided to use a small amount to make cocoa soap. We are running out of hand soap in one of our small restroom so this would be perfect! The ingredients used for this soap will leave your hand smelling wonderful and soft.
Shea butter soap base
1-2 teaspoons cocoa powder
1-2 tablespoons chopped fresh mint
6-10 drops of peppermint essential oil
Soap mold (a plastic or cardboard container also works!)
Start by melting the shea butter soap base in 30 second intervals in the microwave until it is liquified. (Make sure you're using microwave safe glass like Pyrex measuring cup for easy mix and pour). After the soap is melted add the cocoa powder, chopped mint and a few drops of peppermint essential oil. Stir and pour in the mold (if desired, you could sprinkle a bit more cocoa powder).
Let it sit for an hour or until it hardens. Then carefully take it out of the mold.
Chopped it into pieces and it's ready to use! As much as it looks like a bar of chocolate do not eat it!
The ingredients sound very nourishing! I might add a 1 teaspoon of ground coffee to make it an exfoliating bar soap.
This is why I love homemade soaps. There are so many combo possibilities.
Your restroom would smell like a chocolate shop!
This is awesome!
I must try this!!!!!
