Lady Gaga trained for 6 months for her five minutes on stage at the Oscars this week honoring the Sound of Music. Her voice sounded far away from the typical pop choruses she sings as she performed a medley of the classic tunes including "My Favorite Things," "Edelweiss" and "Climb Ev'ry Mountain."
As effortless as she sounded, the singer actually practiced every day for six months for the 50th anniversary tribute.
"I'm just very excited to be here and I really put my heart into this performance," Gaga herself told ET on the Oscars red carpet. "It's a tribute performance for a remarkable film that changed the history of cinema forever, and I'm just very honored to be doing it."
After the medley, Lady Gaga introduced Julie Andrews to the crowd just before bursting into tears. All that work had paid off!
