Okay so this isn't exactly something you can just wake up one morning and decide to to with your significant other. This takes some planning, and probably a lot of traveling.
But here's the scoop:
- A dog sled or dog sleigh is a sled pulled by one or more sled dogs used to travel over ice and through snow.
- Most commonly found in Canada and Alaska (thus the traveling I mentioned)
- Often a multiple-day trip complete with pitching a tent out in the snowy wilderness (though you could mush your way to a romantic cabin in the woods as well)
It's not all dog racing and sub-zero temperatures! This looks pretty relaxing and romantic right?
Plus you get to hang out with these cuties all day!
If you're really interested:
If you're only sort of interested:
Go sledding in your own backyard and then go back home for some hot cocoa and Balto.
looks like it would be an awesome getaway. .someday! :-) definitely on my list of adorbs' things to do with significant other! :-)
I have always wanted to try this! I hope to some day it looks great! I was in Toronto for a few months in the 90's but never had a chance to go dog sledding. Thought about it on a month ski trip in 2013 instead I became ill with Bronchitis and didn't go outside except to return home. Still it is on my list of things to do some day! So close and yet so far! Like hot air ballooning! Though be careful sledding I went this last snowfall and I love it! However, ouchy! An ambulance was there stationed at the public park due to so many serious injuries and hospitalizations from sledding!
I don't know when I'll ever be in a time and place in my life where there are dog sleds available to me but hot cocoa sounds lovely!
