Another start of the week, here's a fresh patch of the rumour mill this Monday.
1. David Beckham's son Brooklyn could play for Manchester United after being set to be released by Arsenal this summer. (Source: http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/428482/Brooklyn-Beckham-linked-with-Man-Utd)
3. Inter Milan will not sell striker Mauro Icardi. (Source: http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/428520/Inter-Milan-RULE-OUT-selling-Mauro-Icardi)
4. Manchester City will approach Pep Guardiola if they fail to win a trophy this season. (Source: http://www.theguardian.com/football/2015/mar/02/manuel-pellegrini-manchester-city-pressure-pep-guardiola)
My Thoughts:
1. Brooklyn might be good enough for the Premier League but I don't think he will be for the top clubs.
2. No surprise here, he has one league goal.
3. Icardi's a good talent and Inter are right to hold onto him despite some of the English clubs' ambitions.
4. Rubbish story. Pelligrini is a good manager and City is only aging and restricted by FFP. The situation they're in was only a matter of time.
@CitySarajevo I don't think that's the case. He won two last year after all, one of which was the league. He should be fine.
@Spudsy2061 The media suggests he needs trophies to keep the job.
@CitySarajevo Honesty I can't imagine that either. Pelligrini's done a good job with an aging squad. Other clubs around them have done nothing but buy (bar Southampton) and City are 2nd, still in the Champions League and still mentioned as having a chance at the title.
Can't imagine them firing Pelligrini.
