Use Aloe Vera to Repair Damaged Hair
In addition to its health and skincare benefits, aloe vera is also a miracle plant for your hair woes. There are four benefits your hair can get from using aloe vera: (1) Healthy hair growth, (2) soothe sensitive and irritated scalp, (3) prevent buildup and reduce dandruff, and (4) hydrate your strands by maintaining pH balance.
This natural ingredient sound like a grace right? If you're down to give this a try below are four ways you can use aloe vera to treat your hair.

1. Pre Poo Treatment

Use this pre poo (pre shampoo) method to reduce buildup and dandruff. Massage the gel into your scalp and leave it for ten minutes, then rinse before shampooing or co-washing as usual. You can also use aloe vera juice to the same end. For a lighter pre-shampoo treatment, mix aloe vera juice, coconut milk and wheat germ oil.

2. Shampoo

Some sulfate-free shampoo can leave your hair dry and stiff. Add a small portion of aloe vera to your favorite shampoo to leave your hair strong and moisturized!

3. Conditioner

If you have naturally curly hair this method can really hydrate your hair! You can either mix aloe vera gel with your conditioner or follow the instructions below for a natural treatment.
Cut the aloe vera leaf from the stem upward, spoon and remove all the gel. Apply it to damp hair (starting at the scalp and work your way down the ends). Then wrap your hair in a warm damp towel and let it sit for 15 mins. Finally wash your hair as usual.

4. Hair Growth

The enzymes in aloe vera can promote hair growth by breaking down the skin cells that are clogging your hair follicles. Use the gel on the areas (such as bald spot) to encourage hair growth!
Final note: Even if you have healthy hair aloe vera can benefit your hair!

I should add aloe to my sulfate-free shampoo. I always hate how sulfate-free shampoos make my hair feel even though they say it's the healthier option.

@missophiestik That's awesome! It's way cheaper than purchasing a fresh aloe at the health store each time!

Not that I have a bald spot, but has anyone try the hair growth method with aloe vera?

Love aloe vera. It's just tremendously refreshing and smells great. I use it once in a while just to relieve stress.
