While DC representatives may have been a little stupid in their damnation of Amsterdam in regards to new marijuana rules in the capital, officers there are doing something else right! As of Thursday, residents over the age of 21 are allowed to possess up to two ounces of pot on their person, as well as use and grow marijuana within their private residence.
A man had some pot seized as property either during an arrest or because he didn't have the proper ID on him, so he went to the police state to pick it up as seized property. The law says the seized marijuana can be retrieved in certain situations:
The seized marijuana will be returned if the person brings the warning ticket to the police station in the police district where the seizure occurred (no sooner than 24 hours and no later than 21 days after the seizure) and provides proof of age.
While cops were confused at first, they gave it back! It's good to see that these law changes that are happening are not just happening in name, they're actually being followed through with!
