Pedal on Parliament is a grass roots campaign started to advocate for the creation of safer roads for all.
The people behind the campaign made this awesome short video about a girl name Katie and her family who use cycling for transportation. The video explains how better infrastructure for cyclists doesn't just make it safer, it also: encourages more people to cycle, makes roads safer for cars and pedestrians, and it improves business in local shops.
In order to achieve their goals, the campaign is asking for:
1. Proper funding for cycling.2. Design cycling into roadways.3. Slower speeds where people live, work and play.4. Integrate cycling into local transport strategies. 5. Improved road traffic law and enforcement.6. Reduce the risk of HGVs to cyclists and pedestrians.7. A strategic and joined-up program of road user training.8. Improved statistics supporting decision-making and policy
