So amongst all the excitement and the buildup to Friday’s season opener between the Chicago Fire and the Los Angeles Galaxy, the MLS has yet to agree to a new CBA with the Players’ Association.
Clubs are reportedly still prepping for the games, including Chicago flying out to LA today and Orlando manager Adrian Heath confirmed the team are still preparing for their match on Saturday against New York City.
There was a dispute much like this 5 years ago in 2010, but that one was resolved 5 days prior to the start of the season. Literally as I type this as well, ESPN FC have reported that the MLS and MLSPU have agreed to terms on a new CBA that will allowed limited free agency at the end of the season, pending the MLSPU.
The LA-Chicago game is set to kick off at 22:00 EST.
