[5th-Mar-15] Daily Rumour Mill
Off day for the football this Thursday, so here's a look at the rumours and news making headlines today.
1. Orlando City has signed Ireland's Sean St Ledger, who left championship side Ipswich in December. (Source: http://www.mlssoccer.com/news/article/2015/03/05/orlando-city-sc-sign-irish-international-sean-st-ledger-following-preseason?)
2. Paul Pogba's agent has said the midfielder could yet stay at Juventus among all the interest, that being Manchester City, Chelsea, and PSG. (Source: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2981480/Paul-Pogba-not-guaranteed-leave-Juventus-claims-midfielder-s-agen-Mino-Raiola.html)
3. Chelsea's Matic has been handed a new contract to keep him at Stamford Bridge until 2020. (Source: http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/562164/Nemanja-Matic-new-4-8m-Chelsea-contract)
4. Joe Hart believes Vincent Kompany will come back stronger than ever after having been dropped. (Source, SUBSCRIPTION REQUIRED: http://www.thetimes.co.uk/tto/sport/football/clubs/manchestercity/article4373697.ece)
5. Everton's Phil Jagielka says the club are in threat of relegation. (Source: http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/6357344/Phil-Jagielka-Wed-be-stupid-not-to-fear-the-drop.html)
My Thoughts:
1. Good signing for Orland City that really bolsters them. They could be in for a good season.
2. I think it's a mind game in order to up the amount the clubs will pay to buy for him.
3. He has been great for Chelsea and has the most tackles on the squad through all competitions so far.
4. He could but he has looked well off the pace recently. Should come back strong as the captain.
5. They are. 14th place and only a few points above the drop is not where anyone expected them to be and not where they deserve to be at the moment.
