By the time you start wedding gown shopping you probably notice there are tons of styles and beautiful dresses out there. However, brides comes in different shape and size - so does the dress! To make wedding dress hunting easier for you, I compiled a body frame guide to help you find the best wedding gown. I also included best silhouette suggestions to help you narrow down your selection.

The Hourglass

You are blessed with curves and a well define waist. In addition, any silhouette will work for your figure. So, why not show them off!
Best Silhouette:
- A sheath gown that is slim from head to toe will show off your figure's pro.
- A ball gown that has a structured bodice and full skirt will give you an elegant feminine look.
- A mermaid gown with a curvy fit and flare silhouette
Dress: 1, 2, 3

The Triangle

Also known as a pear shape, your hips tend to be wider than your shoulder. You want to look for a gown that help create a flattering curve.
Best Silhouette:
- An a-line gown with a fitted bodice will balance out your heavy bottom and showcase your curvy hip.
- An empire gown can accentuate your petite upper frame and the flowy skirt with create a graceful line.
- A ball gown can cover up thick thighs and flatter your natural waist with a slim upper body.
Dress: 1, 2, 3

The Inverted Triangle

Your shoulders tend to be broader and wider than your waist and hip, so you want to balance your frame.
Best Silhouette:
- A short gown can shift the attention from your top half to bottom half. This is also your best chance to throw on a pair of heels to elongate your legs!
- A Mermaid gown with a slim body line and flare skirt could provide a flattering counterpoint to a strong and shapely shoulder.
- A ball gown that focus on the full skirt bottom can also balance out the broad shoulder.
Dress: 1, 2, 3

The Rectangle

Since your shoulders, hips and waist are similar in size you want to create an illusion of curves.
Best Silhouette:
- An empire waist that hugs in just the right and a long skirt can create the illusion of height while hiding your hips.
- An A-line gown can create a faux hourglass shape while flattering your waist.
- A sheath gown will give you the curves in all the right place. Try finding one that has a deep v-neck to broaden the shoulder line.
Dress: 1, 2, 3
Now, go out and find that perfect gown for your big day!
This is also a great guide for prom dress shopping!
