Sunderland boss Guy Poyet, who was ordered to the stand in his club’s 1-1 draw with Hull City last week, has denied a charge of improper conduct after having kicked a set of water bottles and confronting Hull City boss Steve Bruce over the yellow card referee Mike Dean showed to Black Cats midfielder Jack Rodwell for diving.

The Black Cats boss will now have a personal hearing sometime this week to discuss the charges, with a decision expected to be made by an independent panel of the FA sometime late this week ahead of their game at home to fellow relegation candidates Aston Villa.

Does he really think he'll win his case?
