I love making my own condiments using vegan mayonnaise as a base. Vegan mayonnaise, just like the regular variety, is a terrific starter for a number of spreads and dips. These two recipes are probably my most-used - a 'garlic aioli'-style garlic and chive spread and a zesty chipotle spread. Both taste great on sandwiches and AMAZING with french fries, and in this card, I'm going to show you how to make both!

Vegan Garlic & Chive Aioli

(Makes 2 cups)

INGREDIENTS:
1 jar (about 2 cups) of vegan mayo


1/2 tablespoon fresh lime (or lemon juice)
1 teaspoon dried garlic granules (or 1/2 teaspoon fresh minced garlic)
Pinch of sea salt
About 3 tablespoons dried or fresh chives
1 1/4 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
DIRECTIONS:
1) Mix all ingredients into the mayonnaise until fully combined.
2) Adjust lime, garlic, and spices to taste.

Vegan Smoky Chipotle Dip

(Makes 2 cups)
INGREDIENTS:
1 jar (2 cups) vegan mayo

1 teaspoon lime juice
1/8 teaspoon lime zest
1 - 3 chipotle chiles in adobo, to taste
Salt and pepper, to taste


DIRECTIONS:
1) Add the first three ingredients to a food processor, and start blending the chilies in, one at a time.
2) Taste after each chili and stop at your desired heat level. (If you want your sauce a little chunkier, just pulse a few times instead of blending.)
3) Add salt and pepper to taste. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes and serve!

You know, I've never really gotten into smoky flavors but that aioli sounds great!
@GetFitwithAmy Try it with sweet potato fries. SO GOOD.
@sophiamor Aioli is my faaaavorite condiment! It's good on sandwiches or as a dip!
