Sunderland have lost the services of Lee Cattermole while Adam Johnson remains suspended pending the police investigation. Aston Villa star Christian Benteke will return from a hip injury while Ron Vlaar and Kieran Richardson are doubtful. Alan Hutton and Jack Grealish are also suspended for the Villains.
Aston Villa are 3-4-0 against Sunderland in the league since the Black Cats did the double over Villa in 2010-2011; the Black Cats have only scored once in those 7 games. Villa have also only lost once at the Stadium of Light in the last 8 games there. Villa's Premier League win over West Brom made them the last team in the top 4 tiers in England to win in 2015. Villa's win also snapped a 12 game winless streak, but the Villains have lost the last 6 games without scoring a goal in any of them.
Sunderland are tied with West Ham for only havign 1 win since Christmas Day, worst in the Premier League. The Black Cats also have only won 4 games all season, tied worst with bottom of the Premier League Leicester City, but the 14 draws out of 28 games has kept them above the relegation zone. Sunderland's 23 goals scored all season is 2nd worst to only Aston Villa.
Really boring game in store. Villa might smash and grab this but I really don't see it happening.
Sunderland 0-0 Aston Villa
@Spudsy2061 I would only agree. We can't beat anybody at the moment. Hope tomorrow is not an embarrassment.
@GermanBumbleBee Real shock result but I think it shows how unfit City are for the title. Sorry @CitySarajevo.
@CitySarajevo Can't blame him. Was a shock result.
Ha ha ha what a prediction!
