[14th-Mar-15] Match Preview: Burnley - Man City (13:30 - NBCSN)
Burnley's Matty Taylor is the only injury concern for the Clarets as they look to climb out of relegation. Manchester City could play Vincent Kompany and Pablo Zabaleta both of whom sat out the Leicester City game, although for varying reasons. Samir Nasri and Fernandinho are also expected to return to the squad as Manchester City have a full squad to select from.
The last time Burnley beat Manchester City was in 1974 and since then Burnley are 0-5-8 in their 13 games against the Sky Blues. The last three games at Turf Moor have seen City outscore the Clarets 16-3. Burnley have only won 1 of their last 12 games and their 4 draws means only Aston Villa have had a worse record over the last 12 games. Burnley have kept 3 clean sheets in their last 5 games however, after managing only 2 for the rest of the season.
Manchester City have won only 3 of their last 10 games in both league and cup. They are also 6-3-0 in the 9 matches captain Vincent Kompany has sat out for. Manchester City have also scored in their last 20 consecutive Premier League games on the road.
This was an enticing 2-2 draw at the Ethiad Stadium in the reverse fixture and while I think the game will be open, I expect City to be better this time around given the squad's full fitness. Should be a comfortable win but Burnley will play tough.
