Can you believe that Yahoo's most-searched DIY project in 2014 was the Listerine Foot Soak?! I guess this means we have no idea how to take care of our feet. Eeek!
This tutorial is not meant for people who take care of their feet regularly. If you can't remember the last time you took a pumice stone to your feet, or it's been more than a month since you've exfoliated your soles, then this tutorial is for you (and me!).
3 cups warm to hot water (take care not to burn yourself)
1/2 cup of white vinegar
1/2 cup of Listerine mouthwash
1. Mix ingredients into a large container that you can keep feet submerged in.
2. Submerge feet and let soak for 30 minutes. The video says 10 minutes, but WebMD recommends 30 minutes.
3. Remove feet and apply pumice stone to remove the excess dead skin.
For added overnight treatment, rub Vicks Vaporub on your feet and cover with thick socks overnight. Tingling is normal. Also, the coloration can be laundered out of socks and towels.
Listerine was actually supposed to be used as an antiseptic/for wound irrigation before their company decided to remarket the product as something you put in your mouth. I learned that in a marketing class a few weeks ago!
"Tingling is normal" Oh dear...
haha @galinda I think this only works if you never take care of your feet.
I'd try this. I think it's worth a try
Ha! For some reason this reminds me of Mean Girls when Regina uses mint foot cream on her face!
