The first dish I ever made on my own, and the one I still make most often, is Baked Ziti. Its quick prep time and low cost makes it a go-to when I'm in the mood for something equally simple and filling.
16 oz. Ziti Noodles
16 oz. Jar of Tomato Sauce
8 oz. Ricotta Cheese
8 oz. Mozzarella Cheese
1 cup of fresh/dried Oregano or Basil

Fill a pot with 5 quarts of water and bring to a boil before adding the noodles and stirring for 30 seconds. As the noodles cook for about 7 minutes combine the tomato sauce, ricotta cheese, about 3 handfuls of mozzarella cheese, and herbs into an oven-safe bowl.
Once the noodles have been drained and added to the mixture, preheat the oven to 350 degrees. When all ingredients have mixed thoroughly with one another, sprinkle 2 handfuls of mozzarella cheese across the top and put in the oven for 25-30 minutes.

When the dish has finished cooking enjoy amongst friends and family, or feed yourself for the next few days.
@danidee Haha, you're telling me. It was my meal plan in college!
We should make a cookbook called "Pasta for The Struggle".
I always make this when I'm low on funds or I'm too busy with work to want to stress out about food for the next few days. It's so cheap and easy and if you're a single person like I am, it lasts as a leftover for daaayyysss.
