I've been trying to find something really action packed that I can try on my next vacation, and I've decided that I want to go white water rafting! But I don't want to go just anywhere; I want to hit up one of the best locations in the world for white water rafting! I might have to do some training before I go to these places, but I really want to hit some of the most thrilling and dangerous rapids, if possible!!
Three Awesome White Water Rafting Locations:
1. White Nile, Uganda
If you're a beginner or advanced rafter, this can be the place for you! There are tons of different conditions. From mild waters to raging rapids that will flip you, plunge you over waterfalls and highside you against rocks, the White Nile has it! There are also options to camp in the wilderness and lunch on river islands, if that's your kinda thing.
In the video above is "The Bad Place," part of the Class 5 rapids more advanced visitors can aim to tackle. That looks absolutely TERRIFYING (and fun!)
2. Rotorua, New Zealand
New Zealand is definitely a great place to go for pretty much any kind of outdoor adventure, so if you're looking (like me!) to do a trip that covers a lot of cool outdoor things, try this one! Rotorua in New Zealand has it all: from scenic rafting trips with Grade two rapids to Grade five expeditions involving the world’s highest commercially rafted waterfall, there’s definitely no shortfall of options available.
This video shows one of the most famous waterfalls of the rapids in the area!
3. Tully River, Australia
This is the best place to try rafting in Australia! I mean, just LOOK at those waters! You can even combine it with an 'Extreme Tour' for the day. Then you can try tackling the rapids and also take part in cliff-jumping, rapid-swimming and raft-surfing! There are 44 rapids along the Cairns route--not something for the light hearted as these are grade 3 and 4 rapids!
