On a day that saw the US lose an agonizing friendly and the start of the FA Women's Super League in England, here's a look at the news and rumours making headlines in the world of football today.
1. Gareth Bale is ready to begin rejecting offers from Premier League clubs in order to stay at Real Madrid. (Source: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3011914/Gareth-Bale-won-t-leave-Real-Madrid-summer-despite-Manchester-United-Manchester-City-Chelsea.html)
2. Barcelona's Dani Alves is reportedly a wanted buy this summer by 7 overseas clubs. (Source: http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/manchester-united-liverpool-seven-way-battle-5397290)
4. Charlie Adam has revealed he would another year at Stoke City. (Source: http://www.stokesentinel.co.uk/Stoke-City-Charlie-Adam-ready-pen-paper-given/story-26225069-detail/story.html)
5. Manchester City are aggressively denying that they are in talks with Real Madrid's Carlo Ancelotti. (Source: http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/432805/EXCLUSIVE-Man-City-STRONGLY-deny-opening-talks-Chelsea-Carlo-Ancelotti)
My Thoughts:
1. That's if the Spanish media don't swallow him whole first. They're really piling the pressure on him to leave.
2. Alves looks to be a very hotly wanted person and honestly with that much interest I'd expect Barcelona to try and cash in on it. Their youth system should be good enough to replace him honestly.
3. I doubt this story. The price for him might be high, close to what West Ham record-payed for Andy Carroll, but the Hammers have been a much improved side with him in the squad and he's far better than their other option: an aging Nolan.
4. Adam's a very under-rated player who has produced some big goals for Stoke. I'd expect the 1 year extension in all honesty.
5. Very interesting story and honestly I would expect him to be Manchester City's first pick if they do indeed intend to replace Pelligrini.
@Spudsy2061 Your West Ham should sign Song.

Alves is going to get brought into the Premier League one way or another it seems.

@GermanBumbleBee Not sure he's a permanent fix for anybody though.

@Spudsy2061 Depends. Can't really say that without seeing him play in the league.
