The Automobile Association of America (AAA) released a video analysis from the most comprehensive research ever conducted into crash videos of teen drivers. They found significant evidence that distracted driving is likely much more serious a problem than previously known. The results found distraction was a factor in nearly 6 out of 10 moderate-to-severe teen crashes. This is four times as many as official estimates based on police reports. Some of the footage from the study is included in this video.
Researchers at AAA analyzed the six seconds leading up to the crash in nearly 1700 videos of teen drivers taken from in-vehicle cameras. The results showed that distraction was a factor in 58% of all crashes studied, included 89% of road departure crashes and 76% of rear-end crashes.
It's simple people. Get off your phone when you are behind the wheel of a car. Crashing is the least of your worries, you could end up killing yourself or someone else.

This is pretty shocking. How do you take your eyes off the road for THAT long? I sometimes text and drive but only when I'm stopped at a red light or stop sign. Otherwise I just don't really feel safe
@mikerosa92 Unfortunately most people are so addicted to their phones that they won't wait until stop signs. Studies have proven that texting while driving is worse than drinking and driving. At least when you have been drinking you MIGHT be looking at the road. While texting you aren't looking at all
