Spain offers citizenship to Sephardic Jews
Exactly 523 years ego today, King Fernando and Queen Isabella of Spain, signed a decree to expel the Jews from their country. The Spanish government is now allowing the descendants of those who were expelled to regain their Spanish citizenship. As strange of as it may seem, about 2.2 million members of what is known as Sephardic Jews, can actually track back their origins to ancestors who were expelled form Spain. Great to see this change! In Europe, I think, it's rare to see this welcoming of "outsiders" in these recent times...this is happy change.
