We all know dry shampoo does amazing things to second (or third) day hair. However, finding the right dry shampoo might be a challenge for some of us. We already have a simple DIY recipe to make your own magic hair powder but for those who have dark hair (e.g. brunettes) the white powder may not look attractive on the roots.
If you find regular dry shampoo give your hair white residue, try Dear Crissy's 3 ingredients recipe for dark hair.
What you need:
1 tablespoon arrowroot powder
1 teaspoon bentonite clay powder
¼ teaspoon all natural, unsweetened cocoa powder
In a medium bowl add all ingredients and stir until you have a consistent color.
To use: simply use a powder brush and buff it on your hair.
Storage: Store it in an air tight container for up to 3-4 months.
Have you tried making your own dry shampoo?
I try making my own dry shampoo with baking soda and I do like it but like you mention it does give my hair a washed-out look. I'll try this!
@mikayla It has a subtle scent but it wouldn't be noticeable unless someone smells your hair directly.
my hair gets oily fast. i wouldn't mind the smell of cocoa
Bentonite. Isn't that what kitty litter is made out of?
Would the cocoa powder smell last the whole day?
