In the foothills of the Dolomites, an hour or so north of Venice, lies Ai Pioppi, a restaurant that's home to an astonishing, giant, human-powered, kinetic-art theme park playground. It was designed and made by a man called Bruno over forty years, and it's free for folks who eat at the restaurant.
The idea of unattended, huge kinetic ride-on sculptures was surely false? There was some evidence: a very artfully-shot documentary, and some shaky tourist footage, but I couldn't quite believe that something this potentially dangerous could still exist.
Well, it does exist, and it looks awesome in all it's human powered bicycle glory.
Who wouldn't want to ride this thing?
I would totally ride this thing! Haha
This is one of those things I SO want to ride but I think I might be too much of a wimp to commit to trying?!
@onesmile It doesn't look too scary! At least you can control when it least to a certain extent
This is the amusement park of my nightmares. I'm supposed to trust some old Italian guy who likes to weld?
@chowder I agree it doesn't sound that safe
