Sabra, the company behind a variety of ready-to-eat hummus flavors, has issues a national recall here in the United States due to possible listeria contamination.
This is the third listeria outbreak recall this year, following recalls made by both Blue Bell ice cream and Amy's Kitchen organic products. Listeria is highly dangerous. In healthy individuals, listeria monocytognes causes short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, but can possibly lead to death in young children, the elderly, or those already fighting other medical conditions.
Sabra is recalling packages that expires on 5/11 or 5/15. The company suggests you discard the hummus immediately. It can also be returned for a full refund.
