[11th-Apr-15] Match Preview: Sporting Kansas City – Real Salt Lake
Kansas City will be without defender Chance Myers until the beginning of June while Seth Sinovic and Kevin Ellis are questionable for the game, along with midfielder Graham Zusi. Forwards Joao Plata and Sebastian Jamie are out for Real Salt Lake while defenders Demar Phillips and Justen Glad along with midfielder Pecka are all game-time decisions.
Kansas City have won back-to-back games after their stoppage time heroics defeated Philadelphia 3-2 at home just last weekend. It was only the 7th time in MLS history a club had righted a sinking ship in stoppage to go on to win the game. Benny Feihaber's 2 assists in that game for Kansas City now puts him in the lead for season assists at 4. Kansas City also boast a 5-3-1 record at home against Real Salt Lake, including their 2013 MLS Cup Championship against the Utah based side.
Real Sale Lake have yet to win at Sporting Park to which they have taken 4 trips to, including a 0-0 draw their last meeting there in April of last year. Salt Lake's Javier Morales scored his second goal this campaign from a free kick in their 1-0 win over San Jose last weekend and will also head into the match having won their last two games and remain undefeated prior to today's contest. Real Salt Lake's last win in Kansas City was at the old Community America Ballpark in 2009.
Prediction: Salt Lake are good and Kansas City on the down-swing at the moment. Missing Zusi will be big for SKC but I don't think it'll cost them all 3 points.
