San Jose are without forwards Mark Sherrod and Steven Lenhart as well as defenders Jordan Stewart and Shaun Francis heading into today's match; Innocent Emeghara is also suspended for San Jose. Vancouver's midfield duo of Andrew Lewis and Marco Bustos will also miss the contest, with Mauro Rosales, Greshon Koffie, and defender Diego Rodriguez considered as game-time decisions.
San Jose have lost two straight following their 1-0 loss at home to Real Salt Lake last weekend. After 11 games all-time between the two sides, the away team is still without a win, and San Jose has only managed to beat Vancouver once in their history.
Vancouver come into the game as the MLS's best team following their 2-2 draw with Columbus in the mid-week. The Whitecaps are currently on an 8-game unbeaten streak vs San Jose, their last and only loss to the Earthquakes coming three years ago. The Whitecaps are also attempting to win three consecutive road games for the first time in their history.
Predictions: Vancouver look much improved from last year and while San Jose are as well, they are still missing a few pieces.
San Jose 1-3 Vancouver
