I found a great post on Popsugar that gave tips and tricks on how to get energized and how to keep that energy going all week!
I added in a few of my suggestions as well. Get ready for Monday!!!
Don't hit snooze: Rolling over and going back to sleep for 5, 10, 15 minutes is not going to do you any favors. These restless minutes of light sleep will actually drain your energy for the rest of the day. It makes it harder for you to wake up and that will throw off your energy levels big time. Try your best to be consistent with your wake up time so that your body gets used to getting out of bed when you need it to.
Start hydrating ASAP: I'm not talking about setting up an auto-starting coffee machine so you can have your caffeine fix when you roll out of bed. You need water! Not only does it help you wake up, but it gives your digestive system a kick in the right direction and starts energizing your whole body. Keep a bottle of water next to your bed so you can start the day right.
Choose the right breakfast: In other words, no poptarts, and of course no skipping breakfast! Eating a satisfying breakfast offers your body the energy and nutrients it needs to feel great all morning long. Try protein backed smoothies or even a simple scrambled eggs with veggies!
Get fresh air: It's 2pm, your energy is plummeting, you a getting a little stir crazy. Know the feeling? Take a step back from your work and go get some fresh air, no matter what the weather is. You might think you're too busy to take a break but in reality you'll be more energized, focused, and productive once you've given yourself the little energy boost.
Drink green tea: If you don't already know how great green tea is for you, read up! It will give you an energy boost while not putting too much caffeine in your system to mess with your sleep schedule.
Declutter your workspace: You reflect the environment around you, so if your room, inbox, desk, etc looks like a mess you'll probably feel a little out of control. Take a few minutes to get organized, so it doesn't feel so overwhelming later.
Eat an energizing snack: Give yourself a little treat to get you through the day. Try one of these simple 100 calorie snacks that have the perfect mix of protein and a great taste to get you through that late afternoon hunger.
Skip the nightcap: Coming home to a beer or a glass of wine is fine, but keep it away from bedtime. Alcohol can disrupt your natural sleep cycle so avoid any drinks other than waters and teas at least 2 hours before hitting the hay.
Turn off electronics: Staying up a few hours past your bedtime checking emails, scrolling through Instagram, or playing Candy Crush is not going to feel good in the morning. Avoid anything with a bright screen (phones, computers, TVs, tablets) at least 2 hours before bed time.
Get to bed: Get a good night's sleep! Simple as that. Make sure you're getting at least seven hours of sleep every night so you wake up feeling fabulous, energized, and ready to take on the world.
