Vietnamese banh mi sandwich is addicting but the only fallback is the super hard baguette. Some people hate the texture but I love it (except when it's hard like a rock). If the french bread is not bearable for you this banh mi burger is the next best thing to get your Vietnamese sandwich fix.

Banh Mi Burger Recipe:

Makes 4 serving
For the patty
1 pound ground chicken
1 tablespoon fish sauce
1 teaspoon lime juice
2 teaspoons soy sauce
2 gloves garlic, grated
2 teaspoons fresh grated ginger
1/2 teaspoon peper
1/4 cup cilantro, chopped
3 green onions, chopped
1 tablespoon sesame oil
Spicy Sauce
1/3 cup greek yogurt (or mayonnaise)
2 teaspoons sriracha
For Assembling
4 whole wheat hamburger buns, toasted
1/3 English cucumber, cut into 16 spears
1/2 cup fresh cilantro
1/4 cup pickled jalapeños
4 butter lettuce leaves
1 carrot, shredded
4 fried eggs (optional)

In a bowl add all the patty ingredients except for sesame oil. Mix it moderately and place it in the fridge for 30 minutes.
While patty are marinating make the sauce. Combine all the sauce ingredients and set it aside.
Cook Patty
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add 1 tablespoon of sesame oil. Make 4 equal patties. They're going to be wet, just do the best you can. They will firm up as they cook. Add the burger to the skillet and cook until they reach your desired doneness. Usually around 5 minutes per side.
Spread spicy sauce on the bottom bun. Arrange the lettuce, patty and extras however you want.
