Train blown off bridge in extremely strong storm that just hit Baton Rouge and New Orleans
Several train cars were blown off the elevated tracks on the Huey P. Long Bridge in New Orleans this morning as severe weather rolled through the region.
The railcars that fell from Huey P. Long Bridge did not contain hazardous chemicals, according to the New Orleans Public Belt Railroad. No injuries were reported in the incident involving four train cars that belonged to Union Pacific Railroad, New Orleans Public Belt said.
The gusts of wind that blew the train off the tracks were measured at over 100mph.
