Please, please PLEASE take the role, Eddie!!!!
To just sum this up for you, Eddie Redmayne was rumored to be a potential casting choice for Newt in the upcoming movie version of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (a Harry Potter spinoff) and I was cautiously excited. Now he's been officially offered the role and is positively considering it and my dreams are coming true so I cannot hold in this excitement any longer!!!
He basically hasn't said yes or no yet because he wanted to review the script first and make sure it's a character he can love and portray well (how awesome is that?!) but I have a good feeling that we have found our Newt!!! Eeeeek!!
Here's what you need to know about the films:
- it'll be a trilogy
- J.K. Rowling herself is screenwriting them (it'll be the first time she is in charge of a screenplay)
Oh, and a brief synopsis of the story:
"Set in New York roughly seven decades before Harry Potter’s saga starts, “Fantastic Beasts” is based on the Hogwarts textbook of the same name and follows the adventures of its author, Newt Scamander. Scamander is described as a “magiczoologist,” which in the “Harry Potter” realm is a person who studies magical creatures. Besides Scamander, there are four other main roles — two American girls and two American boys — that the studio is looking to cast."
Here's some more of my favorite pics of Eddie....who else is excited?!
