A new treaty on Wednesday by the Vatican has officially recognized the 'state of Palestine.' The treaty, which concerns the activities of the Catholic Church in Palestinian territory, makes clear that the Holy See has switched its diplomatic recognition from being to "the Palestine Liberation Organization" to" the state of Palestine."
People seem very upset about this, but if the Vatican had already accepted the 2012 recognition by the UN to recognize the state, isn't that OK? And isn't it better if they accept the idea of a state rather than the organization PLO itself?
I really might probably am not understanding the full complexity of this. I'm not sure if you'd have anything to say @orenshani7 but I'd be interested in your thoughts on this!

@vonchio, are you saying that all the bloody struggles, going on in the middle east now, are because of Israel ?
@drwhat, well that is another step towards what I think, is a premature worldwide recognition in a Palestinian state. I'm afraid it's mostly a result of a false, but very successful Palestinian propaganda campaign. On the other hand I have to admit that much of the fault falls on the side of Netanyahu's government and its policy of basically doing nothing. We can't blame the leaders of the world for seeing the current status quo as unacceptable.
@orenshani7 Thanks for sharing your thoughts...I've still got a lot to learn about this.
@vonchio, I wonder where do you get your ideas of what Zionism is from. Can you tell me?
