Get your cold packs out from the freezer and gently lay it on the affected area. This method will soothe any acne pain and reduce redness. If done on fresh acne the redness may disappear within several hours. You need to consistently reapply ice for effectiveness.

Vision can reduce blood flow which in turns reduce redness. Apply this topically on red spots to get rid of any unwanted redness.


This pill contains anti-inflammatory agent that can help fight acne and reduce redness. A few drops of water and crush the aspirin to form a paste (you can also add honey to the mix). Apply it topically on affected area. Wash off after 5-10 mins or leave it overnight as a spot treatment.

Spot Treatment

Acne medication that contains ingredients such as tea tree, witch hazel, salicylic acid can help with acne. In addition, look for spot treatments that contain vasoconstrictor to reduce redness.


When you have no time to spare for the above remedies go with your trusted concealer. Some concealer have ingredients that help acne (just make sure it's hypoallergenic, so it won't clog your pores). Use a brush or makeup sponge to cover and conceal.

Aspirin really?!?! I hate actually using aspirin (I'm more of an Alleve girl), but now I know what to do with the aspirin I do have at home.
I've tried clean & clear spot treatment before and it didn't work.
Definitely trying the first three methods.
