You pobably heard of the "fast diet" where you eat whatever you want for five days and for two days you restrict your diet to 500 calories (600 for men). This is also known as the 5:2 Calorie Restriction. Those who tried the intermittent diet has it improve their health, so this is where the new beauty craze started.

5:2 Skin Diet

This diet does not involve eating. It's actually pretty simple. Basically you would wear makeup (like your normally do) for five days a week and go bare skin for two days a week. The idea is to let your skin breathe and detox on for the two days. This will rebalance your skin, take a break fro harsh chemicals, and give it time to heal.
The concept behind this method:
According to skin experts, our skin naturally exfoliates itself over time and skipping makeup will assist this process. Sounds reasonable right?

The Real Challenge:

Our skin does exfoliate itself over time. However, giving it only two days of rest won't make a difference. The real deal is maintaining a healthy skin care routine along with the 5:2 skin diet. If possible, avoid heavy makeup formulas, wash your face before you sleep, and stay hydrated.
Have you heard of the 5:2 Skin Diet? What are you thoughts?
I've been using the 5:2 diet but the other way around. Eat healthy during the week and take a break on the weekends. I think my body is more balanced that way.
Never heard of this diet before but it doesn't hurt to try!
