Saturday night I found myself sitting 10 rows away from Hedwig. Darren Criss (known for his roles in Glee and How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying) graced the stage as the glamorous and comedic Hedwig. Hedwig and the Angry Inch was the kind of show you leave thinking about. It's different than most of Broadway in so many ways. It's simple, set design and plot allowed the audience to follow along as Hedwig told his life story through words and many hard-core rock songs. The show itself expressed ideas about gender, sexuality, cultural division, and love. I left the show in tears. And then cried again after the show when Darren Criss appeared to sign his many-adoring fan's programs. It was a fabulous and extra sparkly night.
