An industrial worker who hasn't slept in a year begins to doubt his own sanity.
Oscar-winning actor Christian Bale lost 63 pounds in less than four months to play Trevor Reznik in The Machinist. The method actor is extremely dedicated in applying all of his acting talent into each role, including drastically losing or gaining weight in order to fit the part.
The Christian Bale weight loss diet consisted of an apple and can of tuna fish per day. Occasionally, he used Anne Hathaway’s weight loss strategy of eating just two thin squares of dried oatmeal paste.
It’s also reported that Bale drank a lot of coffee, chewed gum, smoked cigarettes, and ate salads to prepare for his role.
Immediately following his role in The Machinist, Christian had only six months to gain weight and in addition, add more muscle for his role in Batman Begins!
