Science Says: Don’t drink coffee in the morning.
That’s right folks. It looks like we’ve been drinking coffee the wrong way all along. Because of our peak in cortizol levels in the morning, coffee actually has a negative effect on energy levels. This AsapScience video illustrates exactly how.

As an avid morning coffee drinker myself, I’m actually really shocked and a bit sadden by this news. My body seems to just wake up wanting coffee. I’m going to test and try not to drink first thing in the morning. It should be interesting to see what happens.

I'm going to have to try this myself. Hopefully it'll help with my 3 PM energy dip.

@danidee My roommate made coffee this morning so I caved and had a cup! I’m hoping I have enough strength to try it again tomorrow!

@alywoah I feel the same way. But that doesn’t mean you can’t stop drinking coffee...That would be a lot worse!

This is actually good to hear, hahah! I've never been the type to make my coffee before leaving the house (I'm not sure why!) but I usually make it after being in the office for an hour, or pick it up on the way in, so I think I'm ok!! When I worked at Starbucks I did drink coffee at like 6am every day, but I think my bodies time clock was probably different then since I woke up so early every day. Who knows though!!
