5 tips for how to show your personality in workplace style
It's not a new problem: you have the best style but the minute someone says, "dress professional," you find yourself in clothes that completely hide your fun personality and don't show who you really are. Don't fall victim to this!
Here are 5 tips on how to show your personality while still dressing professionally.
#1: PRINTS, PRINTS, PRINTS
Prints can show off a fun side of you, while still making sure your colleagues don't roll their eyes when you walk in the office. The key to keeping this professional is to stick to one main print and keep the rest of your outfit simple. For example, you could pair a printed blouse with neutral paints and flats.
#2: A POP OF COLOR
Just like with prints, a single pop of color allows you to stand out in the crowd and show your personality. Wear a bright blue pair of flats or a vibrant, teal scarf. Again, make sure the rest of your outfit is neutral so that your outfit isn't distracting.
#3: A LITTLE BIT OF FLAIR
Fun pieces on outfits can also express your personality. A ribbon on a dress or fun buttons on the front of a shirt can take your outfit from drab to fab. Just look for something a little extra on a piece of clothing to make it stand out in your outfit.
#4: FUN ACCESSORIES
Another way to spice up an outfit is to add some fun pieces of jewelry or a unique bag: a cool bangle, a bright handbag, some fun earrings. Just make sure the pieces are not too big or too bright — they then might be considered unprofessional.
#5: USE YOUR MAKEUP
This tip should be used with — you should only use fun makeup in very small quantities. That being said, a unique nail color or a bright, yet sophisticated lip color can add to your overall outfit. Have fun with your outfits!

I definitely agree! Prints are a great way to add some flair to a work look. Your point about having light material for work is so true, especially in the heat of a big city along with having to walk to work!
I find myself migrating towards mom-colored outfits (usually black) and then having cool accent pieces like a turquoise necklace or something!
That sounds like a great idea, although I hope black outfits aren't mom outfits (I wear black all the time)!
Yeah, @kristenadams! What @JordanNash said! All I ever wear is black. It's great. You only have to do one load of laundry.
