Shopping online can be daunting, especially on a budget. When an article of clothing is super trendy, it doesn't make sense to invest a great amount of money on something that will be out of style before we know it. Websites like Forever 21 carry a lot of great staples and designer imitations, but sometimes they get lost in the massive amounts of merchandise. I sifted through to pick out 20 awesome pieces that are all under $20, so you don't have to feel guilty for shopping.

This romper from Forever 21 ($15.90) is great because it's casual and versatile, but shows a little less skin than the basic camisole romper. It can be dressed up with a statement necklace and wedges, or worn with sandals or sneakers and a jean jacket for a great daytime look.

This skirt from Tobi ($19) is great because it's sexy and flattering, but the lace makes it special, transforming it from an average party skirt. Wear it with a cropped tank for a super bare look, or layer it with a turtleneck and cool jacket.

This sweater dress is currently on sale at Urban Outfitters ($19.99), so act fast if you want it! Wear it bare for the summer with sneakers and layered jewelry, and let it carry you into the fall as a great layering piece. The sleeveless cut makes it super versatile, and it's far from a bulky knit, so you can wear it and still look sexy.

This floral cami crop top from Forever 21 ($10.90) is delicate and pretty, but its super-bare cut doesn't mean it has to look trashy. Pair it with high-waisted boyfriend jeans or a voluminous skirt like the model wears to keep it ladylike, despite the piece's overt sexiness.

This gorgeous 70's-inspired maxi dress (also mentioned here in black) is only $19 on ASOS right now in cream. The off-the-shoulder cut is seriously in right now, and the tummy cut-out is sexy without being too much.

This draped skirt from H&M ($12.95) Is so comfy and cool. The model wears it dressed up with a blouse and blazer for a more professional-sexy look, but it would also look awesome with a casual tee tucked in and a jean jacket layered over, with flat sandals for a cool summer look.

This white blouse from Tobi ($15) is a must-have for summer, as a crisp white blouse is such a versatile staple. The model dresses it down, but it can be paired with work clothes or a delicate skirt for a more polished look.

This neoprene crop-top from Nastygal ($19.20) is such a great combination of girly and unexpected. The floral print is cool and contemporary, and the scuba material makes the top almost futuristic. Pair with high-waisted boyfriend jeans to dress it down, or get the matching skirt for a full-on look.

This jumpsuit from H&M ($17.95) is a must-have for summer. Jumpsuits are so comfortable and breezy, and can be easily dressed up or down. Wear it casually with sandals or sneakers, or give it an instant upgrade with booties or heels and statement jewelry. So comfy, you might as well be wearing PJ's all day, but you'll look so much better.

This mock-turtleneck crop-top from Nastygal ($16) is available in both black and white for its cheap price, and is such a trendy piece for the summer. The high neck makes it more acceptable to pair with a variety of bottoms, from high-waisted pants or linen slacks, or with a bandage skirt as a fun look for nighttime.

This boat-neck top from Zara ($17.90) is available in a range of colors and prints, and is riding the 1970's trend on the rise perfectly for summer. The off-the shoulders look is sexy without being over-the top, and can be played up with flared pants, or with little shorts or a skirt for a flirty, feminine look.

This skater skirt dress from H&M ($9.95) is casual and cute, and so versatile for the summer. The defined waistline is universally flattering, and the short skirt balances with the high neck for a cute but not-too-sexy look that can be worn a number of ways.

This crepe midi skirt from Forever 21 ($12.80) is another look that can be polished and professional, or casual and cool, depending on how it's worn. The midi length is really easy to pull off when it has a side slit like this one does, to make it sexy or edgy, depending on how you wear it.

This jersey dress from H&M ($17.95) is a great basic staple, with the short sleeve layer on top adding a unique twist. Dress it up with bold jewerly and heels, or layer it with tights and booties on a colder day.

This halter top from ASOS ($14.50) is on-trend with its cut straight from the 90's, but boasts a great graphic print on top of that. Wear it with shorts for an easy summer look or dress it up with a voluminous skirt or linen pants.

These shorts from H&M ($9.95) are a flattering cut that are a step-up from jean shorts in terms of polish. The faux-suede is on-trend for the 1970's influx happening right now, but the loose, short cut makes them perfectly appropriate for summer.

These shorts from H&M ($17.95) can be utilized to inject the athleisure trend into your wardrobe. The black cord provides a nice contrast and suggests that the shorts should be edged-up with some leather accents. The shorts themselves are comfy and easy, to be worn infinite ways.

I loved this top too much not to post it. Just $14.90 at Forever 21, it's a great little going-out cami, and the mesh detail makes it modern, clean, and cool. The black and white will go with anything, but wear bottom in a surprising color or fun print to show through the mesh.

And finally, this maxi dress from Forever 21 ($12.80). A great staple for summer, and the slits give it an update and just a touch of sex appeal on that! Rock with booties and some light, layered necklaces or statement earrings.
