There is something about the smell of Earl Grey that makes me want to curl up in a comfy chair and just spend the entire day lounging around the house. The caffeine isn't enough to really wake me up and the lavender only makes me feel even more relaxed and ready to sleep the afternoon away.
I'm usually a purist when it comes to tea and really don't like sugar or milk added in, but sometimes a tea latte is just what the doctor ordered. The grey weather in New York the past few days is begging for this recipe!
1 tablespoon loose leaf Lavender Earl Grey tea (I have a Buckingham Palace mix that is amazing!)
1 cup/ 250ml water ½ cup/125ml milk, steamed ¼ teaspoon homemade vanilla extract
If you don't have loose leaf, try this:
1 Earl Grey teabag & 1 teaspoon culinary lavender buds

Add a couple teaspoons of culinary lavender buds directly to your tin of loose Earl Grey tea. Give the tin a good shake to evenly distribute the lavender.
Brew a strong cup of Lavender Earl Grey tea.
Steam your milk with ¼ teaspoon homemade vanilla extract for added decadence.
Add steamed milk to freshly brewed cup of tea!

Where do you get Buckingham Palace Earl Grey from? I hope not all the way to London! And @shannon15, here's a card @cupcakelady made for homemade vanilla extract a few months ago: I haven't tried it myself yet, but I've tried some of her other recipes, and she's fantastic. :)
glad you tried them.
This looks amazing! Do you have a go-to recipe for the homemade vanilla extract?
@danidee I got the buckingham mix from a local tea shop but you should be able to find it at any place that sells a large amount of loose leaf (its in the earl grey section!) you can also try using lady grey~
I already feel relaxed!
