With a busy schedule, we can't all stop to change after work. But that doesn't mean we can't have social life come nightfall! These looks show you how you can rock an outfit from day to night, work to drinks, with just a few minor tweaks. Jamie Chung (above) rocks Look #2, the office-appropriate jeans and t-shirt combo.
Look #1: White Hot
There's no time better than the summer for an all-white ensemble. Pair white linen pants with a white blouse and strappy black sandals (heels or flat) for a breezy, chic office outfit. After hours, throw on a leather jacket to take white into night. If your top is long and voluminous like the one above, you can swap the pants for a miniskirt after work for a sexier look.
Look #2: Jeans for the office
Ok, I admit this only works if your work doesn't have a no-denim dress code. If it does, swap out the jeans for some slacks. Bring the jeans in your bag if you have room! If you can't wear jeans with a few rips like the picture, go for a darker wash, but stick with a relaxed fit that's easily cuffed at the hem (after work) to make it more casual and show off your heels. A simple tee is totally work appropriate when paired with a blazer and dainty jewelry. Grab a statement clutch and swipe on a bright lip for night.
Look #3: Camisole and Pencil Skirt
Pencil skirts don't have to be stuffy! Pick one in a fun print or material (leather adds instant edge and is work-appropriate in a modest cut), and tuck in a lightweight, strappy camisole that shows some skin when exposed. Cover with a blazer so you just see a peak of the cami and is otherwise appropriate. For after-hours, open the blazer, or take it off entirely. Pair with dainty jewelry, or add a statement necklace for night.
Look #4: Crew Neck Sweatshirt and Voluminous Midi Skirt
Full midi skirts are super flattering, as they nip in your waist and then flare out to highlight your smallest part. Pair with fun heels, something with a thick heel or wedge that's a little more casual for night. Crew necks make the outfit instantly casual, so find one in a cute print or with minor embellishments to make it more work-ready. If your nighttime plans make you want a sexier option, wear a simple tank under your crew neck sweatshirt, or swap the sweatshirt for a crop-top after hours.
Look #5: The Summery Dress
We can't forget the versatile summer dress! Pick one with short sleeves to be work-appropriate, in a lightweight silk or chiffon, and with a great print or embellishments. Wear with simple heels or loafers to work, and swap them out for leather booties at night. If this isn't quite work-ready for you, add a blazer, and swap it with a leather jacket after work. A clutch or petite purse tops off the look for night.
