Amy's Kitchen - a frozen food company already well-known for its line of vegetarian and organic hamburgers, pizzas, and pastas - has announced this week that they will be opening the very first vegetarian fast food chain later this month.
Starting in the Bay Area's Rohnert Park, Amy's Drive-Thru will offer vegetarian pizzas, burritos, veggie burgers, and even milkshakes that can all be easily customized for vegan and gluten-free patrons. (A lot of you Gluten-Free Vinglers can probably vouch that the company already knows their way around a tasty rice-based pastas and pizza crusts.)
The best part is that - despite using vegan, organic, and GMO-free ingredients - prices are still extremely reasonable and can be easily likened to that of 'normal' fast food chains. Burgers will cost $2.99 (doubles will be $4.29), while cheese pizzas will go for $5.89, burritos for $4.69 and salads from $3.99 to $7.99.
The founders behind Amy's Kitchen have promised that if the Rohnert Park location does well, they will certainly be continuing to open Amy's Drive-Thru locations in several other cities across the US.
With that being said: Bay Area, we're counting on you.
(Seriously. I'm not kidding. I want to be able to eat Amy's Drive-Thru chili fries too.)
@richardtoth I don't think you can buy butts yet, but if you could, I'm sure the company would be owned by a Kardashian.
That's awesome! Finally something new. I hope the bring them to the north east!
@chandnip804 We have to round up all the Vingler foodies and take a field trip to the Bay Area lol
