Simple and Quick Guide to Clean Eating

Do:

Eat breakfast everyday within 1 hour of waking up. Eat 6 small meals per day. Consume healthy fats everyday. Drink 67 oz./2-3 liters of water per day. Eat a combination of lean protein and healthy carbs at each meal. Replace snacks like chips and pretzels with fresh fruit and veggies for fiber, vitamins, nutrients and enzymes. Adhere to proper portion sizes. Carry a cooler packed with clean foods to avoid eating out.

Don't:

Eat chemically changed foods. Eat foods that contain preservatives. Eat artificial sugars. Consume processed foods. Be tempted to order/prepare large meals. Eat saturated and trans fats. Drink excessive amounts of alcohol. Eat foods that contain little or no nutritional value.

I was able to find these little tupperwares that had special ice packs that fit into the lid so you can take your fresh foods with you to work or school without it getting gross. It definitely helped me stay on the clean eating track, especially because now the temptation to look for something fast and accessible (and horrible for you) wasn't there.

As far as the "don'ts" go, I try to stay away from anything that isn't in its original form or isn't something I can identify each ingredient. Like I can't tell you all the ingredients in a protein bar but I can be sure of what is in a handful of almonds and dark chocolate :)

Really valid point @caricakes usually if you cannot pronounce the words under the ingredients that's usually a red flag right there.
