Empanadas are these delicious little pastries, known for their meat and vegetable stuffing. There is a easy way to make this. I made these not so long ago for my roommates, and they couldn't stop after eating after empanada number one. Success!
Things You'll Need:
1lb Ground Beef 1/2 White Onion, diced 1/2 Green Bell Pepper, diced Garlic Powder 1 Pack of Sazon 2 Tablespoons of Sofrito 1/2 Cup Tomato Sauce 1 Tablespoon of Olive Oil Vegetable oil Seedless Olives (optional) Cheese of choice (optional) 1 Pack frozen dough discs (You can find these at almost any store, in the frozen section. Goya sells them. They are round ready-made dough disks. They can also be called, "discos para empanadas"
How To Make It:
In a large frying pan with some oil, brown ground beef over medium heat. Add sofrito and sauté for a few minutes. Stir in tomato sauce and olives. Season generously to taste with pepper, garlic powder, about a teaspoon of adobo and sazon. Place meat (about 2 tablespoons) on one side of the empanada disc. Don't add too much, or you won't be able to close it. If you're using cheese for this recipe, you may add the cheese to the empanada. Fold one side of the empanada and close it. To close the empanada, crimp edges with a fork to seal empanada. Add vegetable oil to a pan. Make sure it's hot, medium-high heat. Cook each side for about 3-4 minutes. They can burn easily, so pay attention! Fry until golden brown. :)
